RSF Denounces \u201cDouble Standards\u201d Following U.S. Advisor\u2019s Remarks on El Fasher Attacks<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have expressed deep astonishment and dismay over recent remarks made by the U.S. Senior Advisor to the President for African Affairs, Mr. Massad Paulos, and certain regional partners participating in the \u201cPeaceful Solution to End the Sudanese Crisis\u201d<\/em> initiative. These parties, the RSF said, have unfairly held its forces responsible for alleged attacks on a civilian shelter in the city of El Fasher, North Darfur.<\/p>\n

Our forces strongly condemn the rush to condemn us based on one-sided information and the continued policy of \u201cdouble standards.\u201d This becomes clear when considering the course of military operations in the El Fasher theater, where we confidently affirm that the city is devoid of civilians\u2014except for the military pockets of elements belonging to the so-called \u201cPopular Resistance\u201d and the terrorist regime\u2019s operatives. These groups have turned hospitals and mosques into military barracks and rocket-launching platforms, from which they carry out their attacks and then, through premeditated deceit, attempt to export false accusations claiming that our forces target civilian sites.<\/p>\n

In this regard, we draw attention to the heinous record of crimes committed by the hijacked army, its allies, and its affiliates against civilians in Darfur, including deadly drone strikes, aerial bombardment, and the dropping of barrel bombs, in well-documented incidents that have claimed thousands of lives since the outbreak of the war, without consistent or unequivocal condemnation from the same regional and international parties. The most recent of these crimes are a series of violations and massacres that have claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians as a result of attacks on markets and public places. These include the drone strike by the army on Bolboul Timbisku in South Darfur on October 1, 2025, which killed 83 people; the attack on Az-Zurq in North Darfur on October 2, 2025, which killed 17; and the drone strike on Kuma, North Darfur, on October 11, 2025, which killed 20 civilians\u2014marking the 139th attack on Kuma since the outbreak of the war on April 15, 2023\u2014as well as other areas where airstrikes have killed hundreds of civilians, even though these areas witness no military confrontations and are free of any RSF presence.<\/p>\n

Why is there no condemnation? Aren\u2019t these attacks a crime? Why the bias?<\/p>\n

We call upon the international and regional community, as well as human rights organizations, to be impartial, and caution, avoid hasty conclusions, and not be swayed by false allegations aimed at misleading public opinion and distorting the truth. Our forces reaffirm their full commitment to the rules of engagement that protect civilians and to respect for human rights, while at the same time upholding their legitimate right to self-defense. We further call on international actors to adhere to the principle of neutrality and to beware of rewarding the terrorist Islamic Movement and its affiliates by giving space to their disinformation campaigns and fabricated propaganda.<\/p>\n

We affirm that our forces will continue to pursue their legitimate objectives, namely, dismantling the institutions of oppression, combating terrorism, and completing the project of building a Sudan founded on justice, equality, and good governance.<\/p>\n
